The Impending Event Rumor that Just Won’t Die

Heads up.

From my seat, absolute dumbest thing that could happen on the world stage.

4/16? Place your bets.

How’s your tribe coming?

As we watch the Other Hand

You know, the same kind of stuff happened with the first Gulf War, only then we were dependent on the big three American propaganda agencies to tell us how swell it would be.

Three (see three) carrier battle groups to the Persian Gulf.

Rapid petro shock would doom the EU at this point. They will either come together as a unified entity, or fail and dissolve into what they were prior to the formation of the union. Either way, those are favorable conditions for mass conflict. History always has a tendency to come back and smack you in the mouth just when you think, “Oh hey, we got the right people this time. There won’t be genocidal war. Humanity has grown up now. See!”.

Uh huh. I buy that.

Global Moves: Iran and the CW2 Battlespace

This is spot on:

A war with Iran has three drivers:

  • It is building a nuclear weapon.  The Israeli security lobby is going nuts.
  • Iran is sitting on top of the world’s 2nd largest reserves of natural gas (behind Russia).  Given how important natural gas is to future global energy needs and the need to hedge Russia’s control over the global market, this can’t be allowed.
  • The US defense industry needs a new way to drive spending now that bin Laden is dead.  Iran is now at the top of the list (China/Cyberwarfare is next on the list).

With these drivers in place, all that is needed to is to remove barriers to a conflict.

Keep in mind kids, this kind of thing will drive up energy costs way beyond where they are today, and likely cause local retaliation from that special faction of the religion of peace. Not trying to toe the party line here, I’m just saying, if we go step on toes, not only is large scale, global systems disruption on the table, so are localized attacks on soft targets here in CONUS.

This will impact you. That impact will likely be unpleasant. Plan accordingly.

Global Movements: Iran

Arctic Patriot outlines a few things that if go into effect, will impact you greatly down the road.

Forget Iran.  Forget Israel.  Forget Iraq, Saudi, Libya, Egypt, Afghanistan, Pakistan…Forget the entire Middle East.

Really.

Not our world, not our culture, not our business.

Our own tribe is sick and dysfunctional enough.

Should we be attacked by a hostile state, then it’s total war until the threat is gone.  Otherwise, it’s not a fight worth fighting.  I am applying my MHG logic here.  If failure is not an option, win.  If failure is a livable option, do not fight.

“Failure”, that is, a nuclear Iran, clearly is an option.  Why do I say this?  We watched idly as North Korea screamed for attention over its nukes.  Really, is a nuclear North Korea less dangerous than a nuclear Iran?

Why is Israel more valuable to us as an ally than South Korea?  Why is it allowable for South Korea’s aggressive neighbor to have nukes, but not Israel’s?  What is Israel to the US, other than a place to sink billions of dollars in “foreign aid”, stolen from you and I?

I realize this post may make many of you uncomfortable, or even angry.  So be it; it is truth as I see it.

A war with Iran and its unintended consequences in not in the interests of the united States, or their citizens.

It is, however, in the interest of the “US” national government, and their crony-capitalist bedfellows.

A war is exactly the type of band-aid solution the US government traditionally reaches for in desperation.

Good commentary as usual.

The Creature Stirs

I spoke with Ben Stein of all people about this in the summer of 2008.

His vision of ‘the shape of things to come’ should this one kick off was disturbing to say the least.

Ben Stein is a smart guy.

From Zerohedge – Hyperinflation Comes to Iran.

There is no doubt this will impact you and your plans should it come to pass. No doubt.

Macro Manuvers Part II

Wow. Two Iran posts in one day.

From Zerohedge, via Bloomberg headlines.

My key takeaway:

This as Germany, Italy, and now France also call back their Ambassador from Iran.

That’s just special. All this while SB 1867 launches itself into the lexicon of US law with the fanfare of the Lee Greenwood crowd.

Macro Manuvers

Not willing to put any money on this just yet as it has been the bugaboo theme for years now, but the noise coming out of the part of the world where Iran is are ominous.

Keep an eye on it. Norway pulled out last evening according to Drudge. The Brits are essentially done as well.

Should there be overt action, make no mistake, it will have an impact here at home – especially economically.
